New dragon

Wow!! Looking very good and those dragons give it that extra touch. The plants look really heathy too. Got a green thumb there .

Thanks! Trial and error I'm afraid lol. This is my 3rd attempt on a planted tank, I made sure all of my plants are hard to kill.

I hear ya. I am not the brightest keeping FW plants alive and healthy for very long. I got a planted tank to do in the future and hoping I can get it done without much problems. I always have algae chocking out my plants in the past.

I was under the foolish assumption that planted tanks wouldn't need as many water changes, but that's what keeps the algae at bay. The moneywort and chain sword bush are struggling with some algae, I have to manually remove it every morning, and they have some dying areas because if it, but the cambomba (sp?) and water sprite are supposed to out compete the algae. I just got a clown pleco, but he's not small enough to delicately clean smaller leaves.

If you ever have an overrun of those short plants, let me know. Maybe we can do a trade. I've got tons of purple crypt.

Sound good! Waiting for it to fill in around the stones a bit more. I'll have to cut a part out, it's all maybe five pieces only.

OMG! That is a beautiful tank. You got aquascape talent . The pic did no justice compared to the video. I miss my lil bichir. Lost mine in that 2009 icestorm .

I just noticed all my lil rasboras & smaller tetras are "missing". Looks like the birchir is moving sooner than later...

when my roommate had his 110(RR) tank he allowed me to pick out a fish so i picked up a polypterus senegalus(dinosaur bichir as it was labeled but with correct scientific name) and he was a mere 2 inches. he was very very active, and seemed to come to the front of the tank when people were near. very personable fish and would skim the top of the tank for bloodworms and then dive down to look for the cube of beef heart which he loved. he would easily eat a whole cube of beef heart as soon as he found it. he got big, like 7-9 inches within like 6 months. one day couldnt find him, he would up being in the overflow at the bottom. i dont know what made me check there, but he was there. got him out after a little ordeal but he had a mark from im guessing being suctioned to the filter intake tube in the overflow. he recovered fully thank god and my roommate came home with a piece of slate to put over the overflows open top. but when he got home he couldnt find him again and wasnt in the overflow... he was in the pvc piping and dead... that was my only experience with bichirs and it was awesome! i would love to get another one sometime but not right now

Mortimer got a castle! He can't see well, so he sniffs around, I took a couple videos of him sniffing his new castle. And Ms. Seven is in tow, she loves her Mortimer.
