Pufferpunk thank you again for the information that was very interesting.Do have any idea how I can find out the distance between fahaka would roughly be in the wild?

I don't know that this has ever been documented but I do know that scientists aren't sure how they even breed in the wild without killing each other--they're so aggressive towards their own species...

Maybe mating hormones in the wild is the reason they only come together without killing each other at this special moment. Just enough time for the female to lay her eggs while the male fertilizes them and then off to there seperate lives. Seen a wild pair of Mbu puffers in the wild on a video together and thinking it was only because it was mating season, imo. But only in the wild it is done though. Like alot of marine species of fish that is not being captive bred can only be collected in the wild because of the same reason fahakas are mainly collected in the wild.

Keep in mind, in the wild they can get far, far away from each other. In our glass boxes, they are trapped.

Many to most hunter-predators have territorial boundaries. Aggression is max at the heart of the territory and decreases with distance from that point. In the no-man's land between territories, the borders fluctuate in and out routinely. It is not getting tired of the chase, it is distance from the core of the fish's territory that evens things out.

I have my Fahaka in a 800 liter tank and with her agression towards food i cant emagine that another one in there would survive.
I have no clue on her age because she was already 20 cm when we got her, she is still growing slowly.
But we dont dare to try any fish with her.
