Hi Sue,

Glad to hear your Puffer is doing well. I'm a few miles up the road from you, just outside Aylesbury in Bucks.
Your spot on, it is traumatic. Day after day changing the water then worrying about water test results that are probably inaccurate any way! I didn't want to get into the habit of adding loads of chemicals but eventually I did. I think that's half the reason why the tank hasn't cycled in 6 weeks. Thanks for the offer of a sachet of bio-spira, that's very kind! I'm going to try a more natural route, I have a friend with a large tropical tank so I'm going to ply him with a couple of pints of beer and see if I can have a piece of filter medium or something!

Thanks again, Dan.

The filter medium I had certainly speeded things along!! My son goes to the USA twice a year and he usually brings me back Bio Spira just in case we have a disaster!! ( it is totally natural and works like magic!!) but unfortunately the last 2 times he went he couldn't;'t get any so like i say I have 2 very old and probably dead packets in my fridge!
Lots and lots of luck
Sue
