I think you're good to go. I completely agree that any larger tank should be placed on an actual store bought or custom built aquarium stand, but given your tank's square footprint and relatively light weight I wouldn't worry one bit about using it.

It looks way sturdier than an actual 14g Biocube stand.

Even if I did try to sue you I dont see that going through well. But like JRC3 said my nightstand looks sturdier that the real stand.
