I'm using a similar setup for my 40 breeder, but right now cant afford plants =P also on my 10g puffer tank with plants coming in today. but instead of using a hood, i use the fluker light clamps from petsmart petco. if you get the SHO clfs you could really light up 120-300 tank easy. but with CFL bulbs you need to familiarize yourself with the lumen/gallon theories as they have really low wattages
