yes i so should of spent the extra $$ on the bak pak--ugh--well i tried another thing couple hrs ago seems to be working at the present well see in am,cut down a piece of ug filter tube about 3in more than what is on the collection cup,and the skimmate is alot dryer and pulling doc out so...well see.i just need it to work for a bit till i get a proper one,i can use this one on my sw invertabrate tank that i want to set up :lol:

You need patience. My new skimmer took 6-8 weeks before the skimmate darkened and thickened. Basically, they have to break in. The noise level of mine dropped as well.

Once upon a time, I've had found a perfect graph related with the subject at http://www.aqua-sander.de/technik/technik-80.en.html and translated it to Turkish Language. I've just checked the link but it didn't work.

I couldn't upload the graph here, the forum format has changed since my last visit :( . If you explain me how to share the graph with the community, I'll try.

Briefly it shows that; PS is effective after 1,007 density - 10 Concentration. I've been using PS in my brackish tank.
