So 2 shots, 2 pills, and treat the house... I think it's worth it. (sorry J-P!)
if, and for how long, the collars are effective..........

I must have been terribly tired last night to have quoted myself... I thought I edited. Ugh. Oh well.

I think it might be worth a shot, and hope they work. If they don't- then you are flea infested anyways. If they do, no fleas...

Then again, if they don't work and you don't happen to catch fleas... how do you know they worked?
And how long do they last? I'm interested in trying them, because at least once a year we spend 120 on shots, 60 on pills, and about 100 bucks easy on the 'knock out' spray that works quickly and penetrates to rid us of fleas. Have to treat a few times on all surfaces, and it takes a lot to do the whole house.

$280. - if not more (considering personal discomfort and having to hassle with the infestation, and possibly more money spent) If those are 30 day collars, one each month... (one cat? two?) that would be $150 a cat for 1 year, not including shipping. Of course, that's if they are effective. I'd pay $300 to never have to hassle with fleas. Let me know how they work!

good point ^^^^ those collars cost much less then a 6 month flea/tick treatment for both of your cats
1 6 month treatment pack out here is like $60-$70 depending on weight

I use frontline plus on my dog and its worth ever $. Our vet said if our dog is in a low flea environment would could get away with only applying it once every 2-3 months. The only time I have ever seen a flea in my house has been the foster dog, we put a few drops on him and with in a few min they were jumping off of him like a sinking ship. No signs of fleas any more.

+1 for Frontline & be done with it. Flea collars are only good when the flea walks across it.

~reefchik~ thanaks for the post.. it is a real eye opener.

I know they are not using the "oil" per say, but a powdered formula what is then somehow attached (the word my wife used was penetrate) the collar.

I will keep an eye on them. I just wish I could afford a vet to do a liver test as recommended by these sites.
