Which do I upgrade first?

I have never tried this but as I understand it works...

you change over the filters, heaters etc ... the substrate can be kept in a stocking (temporarily) and let it sit under the flow of the HOB filter until your sand arrives.

BUT, as I have not tried it can not not recommend it. You'd have to do a little research on instant cycling without the use of chemicals.

Keep in mind that the bioload of the 55 and the 10 are going to be about the same, the only diff will be the water volume.

In this situation I would wait till one of the higher ups can chime in.

BTW, do you have your equipment and substrate on order yet?

Nothing is on order yet. I might get the sand this week but that's about it. And some stuff next week. Funds are limited.

haha .. puffer keeping is a deep pocket hobby unfortunately. I found that out the hard way.

The sooner you can get that substrate the better. :)
