what type of sand do you have?
Thanks
Tried giving him an earthworm earlier but no interest.
The sand is just fine sand from my LFS
Just wondering what sort of filtration you fahaka owners are using and is it worth putting an airstone in?

I have an Eheim external filter plus 2 internal filters running on my Fahaka tank, but I like extra filtration, plus if any of my other filters break down, I've always got back-ups.
I don't think an airstone would hurt, especially if your current filter isn't putting much oxygen back into the water. I have an Interpet filter that does a great job of infusing the water with oxygen. :)

I have a Ehiem external that does 950lph and the internal does 1000lph wich gives about 430gph turnover but i was wondering if i should upgrade the external filter, i read that puffers dont like fast water flow but do need lots of filtration as they are messy eaters (much like my Cichlids).
i only want to do the best for my puffer which is why i keep asking so many questions :-)

Still no interest in the earthworm but its early days yet, he did eat a bit of frozen mussle though so maybe he`s not hungry, Although i doubt that as he was swimming backward and forwards along the front of the tank like he was begging for food?

When I upgrade mine into his final tank I will be either going for an eheim 2075 or I'll be going with a sump setup filled with biomedia and filter brushes. I haven't decided yet or costed it up. If I wanted to save costs I'd just buy an fx5

Just a little update on how my Fahaka is doing.
He is doing great and has devilish appetite and is growing realy quick, at least i hope thats why when he is fed at night he has a big belly and 12hours later in the morning he has a flat belly and is at the glass begging for food again.
Sorry about the Quality and strange angles.
