By "large", I mean around 5"-6". It seems as though all of the suppliers I have spoken with say they collect them between 2"-6". So plenty of time to watch him grow. I'd be beyond ecstatic if I could find someone here in the states that wanted to rehome theirs. Looks like there was one in Arizona a few months ago. Too late now, though.

But I figure I have plenty of time. I'll hopefully find a tank next week, have a couple of months to cycle it, then be ready when one becomes available. I can't wait!!

This is a pic of the one that was in Arizona. I don't think it looks like a Fahaka.

Doesn't look like a Fahaka at all .... very interesting puffer. Still much too expensive for my liking, but I wish you every luck in locating and getting yourself one.

Looks like I *might* have found a 180 for a decent price. Going to look at it tomorrow hopefully. I'd much rather my fish have the extra 6" of turning room. Just wish I could find a 120 that's 24" wide, but there just don't seem to be any around here used. Wish me luck!

I thought when determining differentiation of species one of the key components was the ability to successfully breed within a species and any cross-breeding outside of species would result in sterile offspring/no offspring. Is the idea they are being purposefully cross-bred for appearances much like a Liger?

If it had any lines at all, then not a "true" Pust. More than likely a hybrid, especially if they could afford 6 of then!
