hahaha
I finally got silicone. My drop checker is drying now. Also hooked up one bottle of the CO2 so the tank has enough CO2 to test tomorrow.
Incase no one knows what that is...
A drop checker tells you how much CO2 in the water by changing the pH of the control water. The control water has to be pure, distilled water with a kH of 4. Add as many drops of pH indicator as you want in with that. You need the indicator/water liquid seperated by air with the tank water. This allows the CO2 to exchange from the tank water to the gas bubble. Then that dissolves into the indicator, which alters the pH. If the liquid is blue, you have too little pH, green means you have about 30 ppm of CO2 in the water, which is ideal, and then yellow which is too much.

Instead of using the filter floss to protect baby shrimps, ladies tights (are they stockings in the US?), cut the foot out and slip over the filter intake! Works great.

Yup, I've done what _jake_ suggested. Just took some pantyhose, pulled it tight around the intake end, then snuggied it right onto the intake tube. it's thin, tiny holes - just found that you gotta rinse it every once and again, cuz it won't let bigger particles through.

DIY Drop checker, still curing. Not in the tank though, I just put it on the outside for show.

Flora: Don't know... one is a lily. Adding lots of java moss tomorrow.
Fauna: 5 rummy nose tetra, 5 crystal red shrimp, 2 cherry shrimp, lots of pond snails (I see two egg sacs!!) a baby apple snail (got for free, was stuck to a plant I got) two red malasian trumpet snails (also free)
Params: IDK, I'll test tomorrow.
Pics!

The leaves: (for OhYouKnow)

what did you do to the leaves to keep them from floating?

You take leaves and just soak them in a jar of tank water for a week or so and they easily sink.
I made them for the shrimp. They love eating them, and I'd like to make more. Shrimp and snails LOVE fruit tree leaves, if you can get those they'd swarm them. Otherwise oak and maple and etc leaves work too, but take longer to be eaten up.
