I'm starting to see some breeding behavior.
The male will nudge the females stomach.

Very nice Swimz$ (you need to get that background with the rocks) -- are those halfbeaks aggressive towards either their own kind or any other fish? I was thinking about getting them a while back.

They are pretty aggressive to each other when it comes to feeding, but with the other fish it is anything but.
The white clouds will sometimes pull food outta their mouths!!!

Your WCMM biotope is looking perfect!! 'd just remove the wood and let only the rocks.
How's the temperature?
I already had WCMM, a school of almost 50 fish. I missed them since I chose to only have puffer at home.
That rocky background is a must for your biotope. I want to see pics soon.
Congrats!

Re: 30 Gallon White Cloud Mountain Biotope + 5 Gallon Pics
Thanks! Its 78,
I'm trying to cool it down again.
I have to keep the fake plant in there because the halfbeaks need cover when the males get alittle territorial, and for the fry. I'll be switching that with some java moss soon once I get enough extra.
The driftwood is something I would remove but the butterfly loaches really like that to nibble on. We'll see, if I find that they don't use it much I'll take it out.
I'll get the backround not this week or the next, let the tank get settled first, then next week I'll be gone. So in August. Oooo maybe my aunt'll take me to PetSmart on my birthday. She did last year.
My mom says no reptiles but she takes me to PetSmart when she says we're going to her house, gets a lizard, and helps me set it up and stuff then talks to my mom. I love her.

I like the wood
Adds a bit of contrast.
It is absurd to talk of one animal being higher than another. We consider those, when the cerebral structure/intellectual faculties most developed, as highest. A bee doubtless would when the instincts were.

Thanks. And that backround, I can't get it.
Its not at any local places and I can't order from ThatPetPlace etc. That stinks. Oh well, I really don't want an all black/white/blue one. Besides, I kinda like it now, although that plant looks really dumb.

Can you order off of eBay Swimz$ ? If you can, there's bound to be some rock ones on there.

Re: 30 Gallon White Cloud Mountain Biotope + 5 Gallon Pics
I am very upset. I spent $25 on a TopFin powerhead and its making SOO much noise. It is horrible! I can hear it downstairs! ANd i can't return it cause one of the bits on the outside chipped right outta the box. GRRR I'm so mad. I'm gonna get an Eheim, or maybe, a Korala (sp?) And I'm gone all week now so I can't get it til next next week.

I've got an Eheim Aquaball on my Abei tank .... it's a good filter, nothing fancy, but nice. Easy to clean and use.
