My Hikari worms were always red. The water does turn pink from their natural coloring.

I took one of your puff images and put it into some editing so I could see better...and it looks like ..its a boy!! At least to me he looks like a boy...

The worms look frost bitten to me...probably been frozen for a long time, I like to buy the cubes which seems to not get frost bitten so easily

Oh cool!! It's a boy!?! How did you tell that it was boy? Also, can I still feed the DP the bloodworms even though they are "frost bitten" or whatever happened? Like...my other fish seem to love the bloodworms! But the DP is still not interested...but I think that's just because this is Squirt's *Yes I named him!* second day in the tank. Hopefully he will catch onto the idea of eating bloodworms.

Thanks for the help. Also, when did your DP begin to eat? Like my DP hasn't eaten yet and I will be gone for the weekend. I'm afraid he will starve.

LoL they won't starve that quick..that is what makes fish such great pets...as compared to cats and dogs..cats and dogs must have water everyday..and food everyday..

Well, fish need food every day too... but in the wild they often go days between meals..because they have to hunt..

My dp's took a day or so to eat...the pet store was feeding them krill..but they would not eat that here..so far I can only get them to eat blood worms and sprulina mysis shrimp. I think it took them a day or so to eat..

But, my dp's are often to busy looking at me to notice their food..so I have to pick it back up and through in a few times to get their attention...and they do not eat a lot so it is possible they did grab a meal and you did not notice..

I shall consider it. Do you think it's ok to feed my DP the "frost bitten" bloodworms?

with my blood worms, occasionally one slips in that has been frostbitten..and the puffers are ok..

But humans are not supposed to eat frost bitten food..so I am not so sure about puffers.

if it were me..I would just feed the worms from the center..you know cut away the edges..get to the worms in the middle that had more protection from the cold...those should be ok until you get some better ones..

I am a little picky like that though..other people may think it is ok...

Ok I will try to do that. Squirt is still not eating anything despite blowing 20 bloodworms in his face. Also I tried placing it in bowls and holding it in myhand/chopsticks and nothing... I'm running out of ideas for what to do. I see him bite them but as soon as he bites it...he skitters away into the foliage. He seems healthy though...no sight of disease or IP so far. And he has no signs of stress as well.
