My husband used to think that my Mbu would give a good bite if he could, but I've had my hands in the water several times and BeeBoo always moves back, away from my hands -- but if he chose to, he could probably take a good chunk of meat out of my hand, or possibly a finger. He's quite large now. On the other hand Obie, the Fahaka, not sure what he would do when he reaches the size of my Mbu.

Many years ago when I had a full grown red piranha my father used to do stripdowns of the tank a couple of times a year (you couldn't tell him it wasn't needed) he used to coax it into a large saucepan and put the lid on. It was then put into a large plastic tub.
It was me that put my hand over the top of the net when I transfered it to a bigger tank. I have a nice scar on my index finger due to that

I feed Peaches food straight off my finger so she nibbles my fingers every day.

If I put the tongs in the irrubesco tank they don't hesitate to bite them and they don't give up after one bite either. I'm SO happy I don't feed them with my fingers, I know they'd get bitten!

Strangely enough I've only been bitten by my suvattii (twice), my Congo (twice) and my Ceylon (once) -- the smaller puffs don't seem to even try.
