Would cory's be a good bottom feeder with a congo? or would yall suggest something else. What about a group of Otto's for algae?

Thanks for all the info, I think i have my plan now.
1 congo and a couple of ottos, maybe some corys. Now to get the tank up and going. Use the plants and corys to cycle it.
Have to say so far I love this form, TONS of info and nice people that respond quick to questions im sure most of yall think are dumb LOL

Congo puffers will eat anything alive in their tank. I added a much larger pleco & all that was left in the morning was the skull.

Do yall think its a good idea to plant the tank and put in some cheap tetra's or something like that(cheapest non goldfish at the fish store) to quicken the cycle. Then once cycled just let the congo eat the tetra's as dinner?

is there any down fall to not washing play sand. the bag says its been washed. the reason i ask is that my apartment doesnt have any outside faucets and my sink is to shallow to do 50lbs of sand

Don't cycle with fish, it's not fair to them, regardless of their destiny every animal should be treated humanely.

don't get your hopes up ... call around to your local LFS' or suppliers and see what they can get. Save yourself the headaches and limit the selection quickly.
Some exotics have a HUGE price tag.. some are seasonal. Many LFS' do not do oddballs at all...

I called my normal LFS and they said to call back on tuesday to see if its on their list of fish they can get
