My current theory is that high brackish to marine puffers of any size and freshwater puffers once they pass 4 inches are probably OK with them The only first hand accounts I've heard of a puffer breaking a tooth (that was not severely overgrown, but that's a long weird story) were both F8's. So it might be a vulnerability of F8's specifically, as Neale Monks, kept SAP's in a tank with MTS and sand for burrow and hid inn, and the puffers constantly went after them, but never damaged their teeth doing it. It's a good comparison because they're a very similar size.

Well does anyone here have personal experience of their puffers' teeth cracking or any of the sort?

I know of TWO first hand, confirmed accounts, both F8's, from here, and one salt water golden puffer a foot long that had such bad overgrown teeth(he could barely open his mouth) he broke one off trying to wear them down on live rock, but that one was on ebay.

wow. I wonder if F8's have different dental structure or whatever than a SAP.. could it be caused by malnutrition like was it the same person's puffers?

I think RTR had a SAP break its tooth but I'm not positive if it was from a MTS.

I believe it was a F8.

I am currently breeding Marbled Crayfish .. they are very easy to breed.. and my puffers love them!
