I was at the LFS yesterday and thought of your question...could this be it? Six Line Wrasse? They are really pretty, and fun! We thopught one was sick but it was just playing by surfing in the current, over and over again!

Ahh, that is a great fish. At the begging of this thread I talked of a fish that would steal food from the betta, that is the type of fish that did it.

They are little food seeking missiles, very active and fun fish. They can be aggressive towards other wrasse and can scare timid fish, like a betta.

They really were so pretty and fun. Would you consider them reef safe? Are they best kept as singles, schools? I've got an empty-of-fish marine 90g and have no idea what to get! I have a fair number or soft corals, zoas and polyps I'd prefer to not have eaten Although part of me still wants to roll the dice on a valentini or GSP

get one of those six lines for me! lol, you keep it in your tank, and just post pix here and there so i can look at your gorgeous fish xD

Lol, we'll see. I have to decide where I'm going with the tank. Definitely nothing exotic/expensive/difficult but ??? I've been doing fw for so long, I have a really good idea what goes with what and what the basic requirements most fw fish have but in the marine section, I'm still the wide-eyed newby without a clue

Single, and no other wrasse. Considered reef safe, but will eat worms and small stuff like that, not interested in corals. Mine pulled my Hawaiian feather dusters out of their tubes. They can jump, so have some sort of protection for that. Mine jumped out of the tank one day when I was feeding, into the cup that had the krill and mysis... They control flat worm and small pest snails, great to have!

im glad i started this thread, found some gorgeous sw fish to consider when i finally get the guts to start a sw tank lol... and because its fun once in a while to go off on a tangent and talk about whatever pops in my head like pretty wrasses

That's what I was thinking. You need a marine tank now

They are all Pseudocheilinus wrasses, just like the sixline, pretty much the same temperament and care.
