Okay my local vet doesnt have levamisole HCL but he has Panacur which contains fenbendazole. I read some forums and many users also had success using fenbendazole to treat camullanus worms. Hope it works
Come to think about it, i wouldnt need to go to a vet if i needed fenbendazole. I remember seeing it in one the LFS, just cant remember which one it was lol could have saved on the consultation fee..zzz

It seems that the worms are only visible when my puffer takes a poop because this is when hes anus area is wide open. When it contracts n closes up, i cant see any worms.
Its hard to sit there n wait until your puffer takes a poop before checking. When i last checked, i saw one worm hanging at hes anus area.

I grew up at a vet clinic, nothing grosses me out anymore (other than skin and pulling teeth). I can eat meals a couple feet away from a surgery no problem.

Okay i think the fenbendazole (Panacur) removed a portion of the worms but i managed to catch my puffer taking a poop and theres still a HEAVY Infestation of camullanus worms!!!!!
The vet said that i should only adminster the next dose 2 weeks later..but im thinking thats just a precautionary measure and if the worms are still there, it shd be okay for me to adminster the 2nd dose. Im sourcing around for Levasimole HCl as i tink it has a better effect against this worms.
What do you guys think?

Okay, the fenberdazole doesnt seem to be working..and the fahaka is slowly wasting away..im still trying hard to source for Levasimole HCL.
I got a feeling that the puffers internal organs are heavily infested with the camullanus or even permanently damaged..now he is refusing to take food anymore and hes getting really skinny..
Hope i find the meds soon

I'm really surprised no one (including myself) has mentioned this link. The fish in question has survived and is doing well. Try PM'ing her for info if there isn't enough in the topic.

Dad, 1st page of this thread:

I think the puffer passed out a dead tapeworm..cause it really resembles one. Its looks like a long 'intestine'. On e other hand, the puffer also has camallanus worms zzzzzzzzzzzzz significant red thread like worm hanging at the anus area. The good part is that the worms are not so bad and i only seen like two of em hanging at the anus. Jungle labs parasite clear doesnt seem to be able to tackle this problem. Would be going down to my local fish vet later to ask for some levasimole HCL cause its a controlled drug here.
This should really do the trick and save the puffer..
Reminds me of the annabelle case thread a few months ago
