and the GSP is lettng the porc get closer, he is also coming out more, like swimming AROUND
and the porc is swimming up to him, like chasing him around if the porc sees the GSP
but hes getting close, like i feel if he were going to eat him, he would of snapped and tried to bite him close, but idk

the porc i am pretty sure wont take a bite, ive been watching and like the past 2 days (from what I see) the porc hasnt paid any attention to the GSP
so i would be waiting for the GSP to relax, yes... and keep an eye out for anything else =X

Are these fish all at full maturity?
The problem is that puffers are known to turn against their tankmates at the drop of a hat. Even after a year. Just because they're fine for a week or a month doesn't mean that that won't change in an instant.

I have a burrfish and a maroon clownfish together.. the burr is somewhat similar to a porc. Most of the time, they ignore each other completely, but there's been a few times that the burr HAS unexpectedly taken a snap at the clownfish.
Now, IMO, a GSP is not nearly as fast and manuverable as a clownfish.. so the first time the porc does take a snap, could very well be the last time for the GSP.
I do think some people keep these species together.. but to me, its dang risky. And it goes both ways too.. the GSP might turn nippy and take chunks out of the other fish, they have a rep for getting nasty as they get older.

I think Chin keeps them together. I don't know how long-term though.

It sounds to me as if something should be done before something bad and irreparable happens. That sort of thing would make me nervous, especially as he's said the Porc is so much bigger than the GSP.

I had a GSP with a my porc for a while. The GSP was in the tank first. I added a toby puffer and the GSP and Toby got along great for almost a year. They never even noticed each other. When I added a Porcupine the GSP hid all the time. He seemed unhappy. Just swam up and down the back at night and hid all day. After about a month with the porc puffer he seemed to snap. ( the GSP)It happened one day out of nowhere he tried to eat our clowns and then the toby puffer. We quarantined the GSP and were lucky to find him a new home. Luckily we were home to stop any major damage from being done.
I think the GSP is too threatened to be housed with a porc. That was my best guess. I think the GSP wants to be the "big daddy" of the tank and get stressed if they aren't. These fish can turn on their tank mates on a dime from what I have heard and experienced. Since the porc is already chasing the GSP it's best to separate them. If one of them was to die in your tank they can release a very poisonous toxin. I have heard even stressed puffers will puff and release some of this toxin.

ok, so i can put him in the other tank if i bring the amount of electricity down...
because i am too nervous and dont think its gonna work
so how how can u cut down the electricity?
the only things that i have going is the bio wheel (70 gal) filter in a 20 g
a heater for a 20 gal (where i think most of the elect is going)
and i single fluorescent that i keep on 7-8 hours a day..
if i get a bigger heater, would that cut down the electricity because it can do more in less time?
AANNDD....
i need to stop the vibration from the bio wheel
the impeller seems to be the problem..
ive had the prblem b4 and replaced the impeller and it was better for like a week
any suggestions?
also if theres anything i can do for the protein skimmers vibrations?
