Once you bring a GSP to full marine, can you go back?

thats good for you to think logically like that... do you have any local pet stores that you have a good relationship with or you are close with that would take him as kind of a "store mascott"? maybe you could do that and you would still be able to see him... i know there is one by me that did that for a few people... and those fish actually get the store a lot of extra business... theres a bunch of people that say they only come to see the fish... they have this gigantic red devil named sherbert and a frontosa and an elephant nose cichlid... and they are like the biggest, most gorgeous ones ever... maybe you could talk to some LFS to see if its possible??? it may be somewhat far fetched... but i know some places do it... just a thought

I'm in Burlington. I don't want to talk you into giving up a beloved family member but if you decide you have to, I will absolutely make the drive. Or if you want to see my tanks before committing, we can set that up, too. No pressure, no rush, but if you decide that way we can make it work...

Thanks Carmen, it's nice to know Zephyr would have a good home if I have to give him up. 100% before I were to take credit for him at a LFS, I would give him to you for free. Do you have a tank large enough for him? Remember he is a bit on the skittish/aggressive side, but I think if he were in a bigger tank he would be fine. I'm still trying to find a way to keep him, but it's nice to know that he would go to someone who actually cares about puffers.

Thanks for the idea Kilofey, that's actually not bad at all.....I will ask around. That way I could even just "loan" him out and in a year or two when I get a house (...and a way bigger tank), I could take him back.

It would require some shuffling and prep time but yes, definitely. Right now I have 4 tanks. My 90g marine is perfect and I don't want to change it but I have a 90g community tank that is understocked and incredibly boring, a 65g tank with a turgidis (who barely moves and really only needs 20g, but I wasn't sure what he was or how big he'd get when I got him so I erred on the side of caution!) and a 29g bowfront sitting empty except for snails but running. I'd either move Frankie to the 29g and use the 65 for Zephyr, or move Frankie to the 29g, the community to the 65 and Zephyr could have the 90.
Like I said, we could definitety make it work but don't feel like you need to decide right away, I'll find a way if even if it happens down the line some time...

He is definitely not a ceylon and I would agree, that is a giant spotted, not a GSP. I'm also surprised he's doing okay in marine.
