Most hobbyists treat test results and their interpretation/hobbyist response as black boxes. They are not. There is sound reasoning behind how and why we react the way we do to certain readings. None of it is magic. Getting some understanding across to the average hobbyist is what I have been trying to do the last decade plus.
I learned long ago in the lab that if the techs really understood why we did the things that we did, everything went better. Nothing carved in stone; everything with a basis for action or response. No magic, no black boxes. It would be nice if hobbyists had at least a little bit of that.
