autophotos I'd be happy to post a picture if my camera was working! I'm waiting on a new camera to arrive any day (once mail delivery gets back to normal) -- but I think the so-called earthworms are probably the same thing you're referring to as "garden worms".
You will probably have it sorted by the time I get my camera, but I will post a picture when the camera comes, just in case.

Yep! I shake it up a bit to disburse to all of them.

Depending on the type of worm I have depends on how I feed them. Leaf worms (the little red ones) feed right under the bottom layer of leaf litter so I add fortified veggies just under the layer of leaves I keep on top of th soil. With nightcrawlers I just add a vitamin powder to what ever I feed them on the surface. Nightcrawlers (the big worms) are surface feeders and come up on the surface at night. After a few hours I spra the container down with a spray bottle to move the vitamins in to the soil so thy get them that way.

On this topic I really wanted to put this link out there. I drive to pick up worms from this guy and they are fantastic, no refrigeration necessary worms. I raise them in a rubbermaid container under one of my tanks. I do not know this guy, nor do I have any affiliation with his business, I'd been having them shipped to me for quite a while and then realized that he was only about an 45 minutes away from me. http://www.cccrawlers.com/shop.html

In the Spring you can find very small baby ones under rocks, logs...pretty much anything that sits on dirt...

I wouldn't dare try that here by my dorm - the neighbors treat the lawn. But our organic garden at home should be safe...

Chop 'em in half or in thirds. You could always freeze the remaining pieces and keep the box of worms in the fridge. ! Thaw pieces in vitamin water.

Though if the appeal is the wiggle they do ... That would probably be lost on a piece of dead worm.

They're too thick, actually. But they do like frozen worms fine.

This company I posted had crawlers that aren't as big as the Canadian nightcrawler that you usually find in bit shops. My GSP eats half of one in a feeding.
