I've seen my F8 puff up when I sucked her into the gravel vac and had to slowly cut it apart to get her out. She's still scared of the gravel vac to this day... and so am I.
I've also seen my GSP puff up about half way... we were watching him and he puffed up a bit, then let out a massive poop! He did this again the next day, but has been, err, regular since.
