good eyes J-P, i picked up 2 of them when over seas, Soga Shouhaku is the artist.
now I got questions I forgot to ask.
ok im doing undergravel for bulkhead protection, my concern is if i go live planted are the roots going to get threw the cracks and jam my intakes?. (I wont do fake plants)
or do you guys think I should go without any substrate and bare bottom tank.,
or substrate and no plants ?... boring?>
I do prefer the look of natural aqua scaping but in the end all I really care about is my puffers health.
one more question, when it comes time to transfer puffer to new tank. ive heard horror stories of netting puffs, should i try catch her in a bucket? or what other method. she generally lets me do whatever to her but when the net goes in she gets upset.
thanks for help.

what's wrong with getting a balast and lights from the hardware store? A decent set should only run about $50

unless you're going for top end plants .. the halides might be overkill. Besides you can alwyas adjust the height of the balast ;)

a little overkill but better to have and not need then need and not have ,, so the saying goes.
