This is interesting because I've been seeing some post from people with Fahaka that never get over 6 inches but get very round, more so than the average Fahaka. To me, a shorter rounder Fahaka is more suited to a lake, slow moving river and the longer narrower is more for the faster water (hydrodynamics). I wonder if this is occurring due to lower water levels and lower flow state of the rivers.

Well, the T. lineatus may occur in a number of other lakes, too. It is so widespread it would not be surprising if there were more regional variants. The African rivers in part are so slow and large, there's not much hydrodynamic difference I'd expect in contrast to lake fishes.

6" From head to tail ? He actually looks bigger than 6" ,but its hard to tell from pics alone. I thought my Fahaka was about 6" because he looked smaller until he layed on the substrate near the glass one time & I was able to get an accurate measuring of mine. He was actually 10" from head to end of the tail .
