I don't like to use any of that commerically produced stuff..I'd suggest that you find someone ( maybe the LFS) with a healthy tank and ask if you can have some filter media (a used filter) You'll need to transport the media submerged in water from the tank you are getting it from and sqeeze it out into your tank. It will make the tank look dirty but it will help alot. Continue with the WC and you should be on the road to a healthy tank!

Thank you for the help it is very useful. How often should I change the water in the tank? You probably said but should it be daily or every other day?

Until you get it cycled you should do at least a 50% each day making sure you use declorinater...this will help your fish out greatly! Remember that Puffs do not have scales so using chemicals ect can really harm them so be cautious..

I love my GSP's they are wonderful puffs I hope yours live a long healthy life..And we are here to help you as much as we can so keep us updated!

I think that ChemiPure stuff is carbon. It takes chemicals out of the water. Don't worry about it unless you need to remove medication from the water.

Luckilly I'm a pro at tropical fish compared to puffers lol so you got
4 GSP's, 2 angels, 2 plecos, 2 ghost catfish, 1 neon tetra, 1 fiddler crab, 1 molly in a tank
Fiddler crabs are treats to GSP and angels natural prey are tetras
10g
2 catfish
neon tetra
fidler crab
1 pleco
55g
GSP
Angelfish (though they might be injured by GSP 10g is too small
1 molly (those guys can actually survive brackish)
1 pleco
Try your best to get rid of the Angelfish and the plecos first...

Some mollies NEED brackish water. Do you know what kind of molly you have? What kind of pleco?

Have you read any of the articles linked in the 1st page of this thread? I highly suggest reading them all, several times.

I don't know if you have bought your fiddler crab as a snack for your GSP but if you haven't then please remove it as it will drown if it can't get out of the water.

Those air pockets will run out of oxygen, very soon.

So I guess I should get rid of him to then? However I have done 2 half tank cycles on my tank so far and it seems the puffers swim around more and are more active. There is one puffer that has kinda dug a hole in the rock on the bottom of the tank and it seems to stay there quite a bit, it leaves then another comes over and takes its place but dosent stay that long. Then the other comes back over and stays there for a long period of time. Should I be concerned about this, or just wait and see what happens?

Don't be concerned about them picking out a favorite spot. The lethargy is a problem, but that's going to be fixed by the water changes and cycling.

For the fiddler, I'd set up a separate tank, even if it's just temporary. A clean (preferably new!!!) plastic bin with water and land spaces should be fine. You'll have to do water changes daily until you can either get him a more permanent setup with filtration... Or you can freeze him and feed him to the puffers.
