Well I have 2 30 gal tanks and it only takes me about 20 mins to do a gravel vac and water change 1-2 times per week, sometimes more. And one of those tanks is brackish.

What do you use to do the water changes and how much water do you remove with each change and each tank? It takes me MUCH longer to do my 30 gallon.

Arrgggghhhhhhh! I'm spending 2hrs/day on my fish now! I've got all these bettas waiting to get into foster care and I have to change all their water every day and mix medicines and salt and argh!

I actually find it therapeutic doing water changes .... although keep in mind that I also don't lead a very exciting life. The only part I loathe is the moving of buckets of water, but at least it's building some muscle in my arms!

I take Tuesdays off to answer the NA Helpline & do WC. I usually start about noon & am done by 4. I do 90% on my 90g discus, then 50% on the 29g BW & 75% on the 20g modestus tank. Last, is 75% on the 125g fahaka tank. If I have time, I do WC on my SW tanks but they aren't weekly.

yeah schismy, I like cleaning the tank, gives me something to do on weekends for an hour. Its fun, except when they bite you

I don't really have fun doing WCs but It has to be done! My husband tries to help but I wont let him...he pours the water in too quick! lol but he says i'm going to break my back...

Of all the puffers that have bitten me, my GSP's have not done it yet! Do they bite you hard OC ?

not that painful but it isn't a nice nip like my betta. Mostly just the element of surprise when I accidentally dip a tip of my finger lol

Yes, I know what you mean, I remember the very first bite I received, it was my suvattii that got me, and I just wasn't prepared for it at all, and I recoiled my hand and shrieked. Felt silly afterwards.

takes me about 15-20 minutes to do a 70% WC on my 45 gallon SW tank. I mix the water in one of those big sotrage container things then pump the water through a hose to my tank using a powerhead. and i siphon the water out of the tank out my window and into the yard

Nifty, just nifty...i need to come up with an easier way to do WCs

Naw...I just use a regular vac and a 5 gallon bucket...maybe i need to ask santa for some new stuffs! I already put in for that puffer book!

Do you mean the 'Aqualog' book on puffers busybones? It is quite good, it's like my puffer bible.
