yeah, hence the not mixing salts being a good thing.

RC is actually cheaper in my area than IO

granted im buying wholesale so idk if its just a markup thing.

BUT
and thats a big one. I prefer a salt with not as many additives re IO so that i can balance the amounts i use.

IO also seems to be the most stable for my style of keepnig tanks. which is to balance fish and inverts and plants to maintain water chemistry with less maintenance.

RTR however has been doing the SW thing much longer than I so if he has a favorite salt I think the majority of us would find it very good

Im guessing RC RTR?

IO is by far the most used by Saltwater/Reef people on other boards. It's usually the cheapest too.

That is all I stock right now, but I have shut down all the SW and BW for some time. Every decade or so I have to make radical changes in my stocks to avoid burn-out, and right now it is a no water mod era, so no blackwater, BW, or SW. I am strictly aged tap at the moment. The current goal is to cut the number of tanks further, so I can bring back the big tanks and automate them.

I am holding the RC as I may backslide a bit to try breeding Amanos and/or Olive Nerites and I did pick up a couple of smallish packages on sale, but I don't want to have to stock multiple water types again for a few years.

Sometimes the drs post things on the website that are not in the book. Currently, there is "no added weight fee" for salt. To me though, it looks like they've averaged out the weight charge and simply added it to the overall price of the salt. However, they currently have free shipping on Standard Ground orders of $60 or more, but the orders have to be placed online.
