Odd behavior (just started)

My Dogface puffer has been doing the same thing for the last 5 days every afternoon . Then he just rests for a while . He thrashes around snaps his teeth swims fast goes to the bathroom and just has a fit . I just feed him a crayfish which calmed him down now he is sleeping . No changes to his tank at all .

Maybe she just hit puberty? Does she still have hiding places w/o those logs in there/

She has a log all the way to the left of the tank. That's always been her little cave/sleeping hole. I didn't take that one out. I took the other's out because she would get freaked and run into them, scratching her face. I was scared she would put an eye out. When she was just 2" the other logs were fine in there, now she's knocking on 9-10" and they just started to take up too much room. There was no place to hide under those two logs. She did have lots of fun when I took them out......all my "lobster shrimp" were hiding under them. Once the logs were gone, Annabelle had a shrimp cocktail, she didn't even bother with the sauce.

The temp is 78-79 (been that way since I set up the tank) Keeping steady, no heater problems, knock on wood. I still think it might be the full moon.

I thougt about that, I haven't seen any egg laying. Maybe she's a he?

Two nights with no teeth slamming on the glass. I believe it may have been the full moon that made Annabelle crazy.

LOL, glad to hear it's calmed down a bit. Had something similar with George, I think he doesn't like the vacuum as we normally rub our finger on the glass to say 'hi' to him and he'll normally come over and see if there's any food going. I did this after vacuuming his tank last night and he charged to the glass and I heard his teeth hit it as he tried to bite me (already got me once before!!!!)
