Guys! Have a really stupid question to ask. So please don't slam me!!!

Do you know how to transfer a puffer to another tank?

My local aquarist told me I need to have a bag and coax it in, so yeah, I'm kinda confused.

Can't I just use a huge net?

When I moved mine (although only a small GSP) I sort of scooped him into a large jug. Maybe you could scoop him using a large bucket? Don't know what to suggest really.

You can't use a net to move them because if they are exposed to air, they will panic and try to puff, but they will get filled with air, which they cannot expel on their own. This can kill them if you can't get it out. You will need to do the whole thing underwater - use a net to trap him and coax him into a large container, lift the container out (keep it covered with the net so it can't jump out), and then lower the container into the water. If at any point the puffer ingests air, refer to the article in the Library on "burping" your puffer.
