T. schoutedeni, which in my opinion look somewhat like a cross between a baby mbu and a nigroviridis, would be interesting to study and possibly breed (was done in the past). Hey, that is an awesome looking puffer Corvus, would love to have something like that -- but that's a marine puffer, isn't it?

Well, I can still hope for my T schoutedeni, which I will probably never seen, but I can always hope for!

Yeah, I've got the Aqualog book and seen photos of it in there, and with seeing this pic of yours, I'm even more resigned to wish for one! I think they are very interesting looking (okay maybe not as much as that marine one you showed) and from what I've read they don't sound very aggressive and anti-social either. But seeing as they aren't traded much, it's probably next to impossible that I will ever have one.

Those are both great looking puffers! I want to have a 200g softy tank with a porcupine puffer someday. That's the goal

I think I may have seen one of these schoutedeni puffers at Exotic Aquatics (Baltimore, MD). They had four very large GSP-looking puffers housed together. I felt bad for them, because they were all in freshwater, versus the much-needed salt. Three out of the four puffers had very dark bellies. The fourth one had an all-white belly, different spot pattern (instead of round cheetah-esqe spots, more leopard-ish), and slightly different shape. Just passing by, you probably wouldn't notice until you looked at it in closer detail.

It had been on my mind ever since I saw it. I didn't understand how it's belly could be so white vs the others, and then I realized that there were two puffers often confused with being GSPs.

I'll try to go back and get some pictures.

I don't think what you seen was schoutedeni puffers because they do not look like GSP's and they only get to be about 3-4 inches long. I think probably what you seen is more likely Ceylon puffers (T fluviatilis). Mine Ceylon has a dark belly alot, but my other one's belly is always white. Go figure!
