I read it. Used Pimafix and Melafix and the fishie still died. 
I think this will be the case with mine even though he's out of danger from the F8's and the DP isn't likely to bother him. Its such a bad wound. I looked at him when I changed him from one tank to the other. Maybe its "just tail" and not vital organs- I can see veins, vessels, etc- but still a huge infection risk.
