Ok here are the pics. There are white dots on his fin on the left side when looking straight at him. There is also one dot on the base of his top fin. I hope you guys can tell whether its ich or not.. Thanks

PS those little dots on his skin only show up when the flash goes off and you cant see them without the flash it is smooth.

So the dots on his skin that show up with the flash its not ich right? cause its not there without the flash and his skin is totally smooth. i could be pigmentation or something. Do the dots on his left fin look like ich? its still there after 11 days of treatment now

I'm not sure. The picture is a little blurry. Someone who's better at this than me will be along shortly. :)

It appears that the spots on his skin look like they are his spines. All puffers have them and you can see them on some and not see them on others. The spots on the fins, the one on the dorsal fin is too blurry to really get a good look at it. The ones on the pectoral fins I have seen on my own puffers before, especially my GSP, and they are only on the pectorals. Does that sound like what you are seeing? If it is, the spots on the pectorals are not Ich. I treated my GSP for Ich, and he definitely had it; the ich went away but those spots stayed and just spread out as he grew. IF you can, get a real clear picture on the white area on the dorsal fin, I can see it but not clear enough. Has that spot changed with the salt and heat?

The dots on his skin are his spines, not ich.

The spots on his fins look to be healing injuries, possibly with a touch of fungal infection but most likely just some scar tissue while they heal.

Clean water should be all you need.

Ich looks like little grains of salt all over the fins/fish, not just a small, lumpy bump here or there.

Ok, I really hope its not ich as it will affect my entire tank until i kill them all with heat and salt. However, I will keep this treatment up for another 20 days as long as my Abei seems ok with it just in case. After that i will move him to his new 75 gallon home!! lol hope he will like it

It didn't look like ich to me either, and I believe if it was, you'd see much more white in those fins, that's how I can usually tell when mine have whitespot/ich.

Lovely Abei, by the way. :D

Thanks guys, I'm stopping the treatment now and beginning to lower the temp of the tank down. I hope the dots on his fins will go away.

Well if the spots are his spine, chances are they wont. However, it's just a part of his body and nothing to worry about. :)
