Beware Jan, once you get a puffer you can't stop!
I started with 1 dwarf puffer, then I bought a few more, then I moved to Colomesus asellus (SAP), and it was all downhill from there (just ask my husband).
Now I've got 54 puffers comprising of 12 different species. It really is a sickness, but a very pleasant one and most satisfying.
I've got 4 GSP's and they are very interesting to watch. Mine love to hang out in their coconut shells, or under the plastic plants that are in the tank. And they are oh-so-cute!!! How can anyone resist their little puffed up faces??!!

Hi Homer - yeah the sad bit is that a couple of months ago I was due to get a Palembang, and 2 days before the man was to bring it over, he phoned me up to say that it had died!! I was heart-broken.
Been looking for one ever since, but just haven't found it yet. I'm also looking to get an Abei, but I think it's pretty much hit and miss for the most part, although I'm hoping with the warmer months amongst us that there will be a greater selection of puffers to come at the different LFS that I visit.

^ Yeah i remember you mentioned that before, but i must say, if you found an Abei that would be just as awesome

Well there's a Maidenhead Aquatics that is trying to get one for me, and I believe he will finally get them because the guy who does the ordering is a puffer-keeper himself. So I think the odds are pretty good for an Abei.
My Baielyi is doing really well, he comes right up now when I put a mussel into the water. I make sure to get my fingers out of their pronto!

^ Thats quite lucky that there is an employee like that to help you out, and good to hear that your bailey recognizes you at long last
But just out of curiosity why not use a pair of tongs to feed your puffers instead of risking your fingers, although i can see the joy of literally "hand feeding"

It's not so much that I want to "hand feed", it's more like I just haven't bought a pair of tongs yet.
I do have those plastic ones, but I have found that after a while they start sticking, so that when you go to release the food, it won't open. Although my puffers, suvattii's especially, enjoy biting those plastic ones!

well that explains everything

... maybe its time to invest in some of those metal tongs used for planting stuff in aquariums so you don't have to worry about your puffs eating plastic or nibbling on your fingers
