Leave it alone, they'll adjust to it fine. Its much better in most cases to let the fish get used to stable conditions than to try to adjust it constantly to be in the "ideal" range.

If you want to breed them, you might look into it later on, but for now, just let them grow up and settle in.

Mine live in 8.4, and they're quite healthy.
