So, what kind of tank do you have this in?

When you are saying GSP your talking about green spotted puffers right?

Well at the store it was kept in a really small area thus it proabably isn't at it's full size.

def not a ceylon. i would go with either a giant green spot or GSP. not sure if there's really much a difference in care between them other than tank size. i suppose i should brush up on my pufferpedia info. either way nice looking puffer you got there. how big of a tank is it in again?

24 gallons but I am wanting to move it into at least a upper 40's to 60 gallon tank next year (sorry, I know that I should have a larger tank avalibal but our budget is kind of tight right now).

However, since I am now able to get a job I am very likly to be able to get the money needed for a new one.

Also the puffer's name is Eric Cartman (from South Park) because 1) Eric is kind of fat, and my puffer likes to eat, mucho grande (much greatly in spanish) 2) Both of them are kind of spoiled 3) They both like attention 4) Finnally South Park is an amazing show (but that's a different topic altogether).

Definitely not a Ceylon, as it's missing the black saddles that puffertt77 mentioned. My vote is giant spotted, too.

Hmm, could be GSP or giant spotted. If he's at full marine and showing no signs of stress, probalby GSP - giant spotteds react very poorly to high SG, prefering hard fresh water or very very low brackish, at least from Hilly's feedback, and the info we got from that couple that found they were doing well in a community tank.

Tough call. How large is it?

It looks kind of like a big GSP, kind of like a sab in the face.. I would not say Ceylon though.

What makes it difficult to say is we don't see many full grown, completely mature GSP's, and their body shape does change as they reach the larger sizes...

Then what should I do if that's the case? Should I remove the salt (I don't know how much is atucally in it)? Remove the live rock?

I will make a rough guessitmation of three to four and a half inches or so.

Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Does it seem irritated or stressed most of the time? Sabahensis would show stress VERY quickly at full marine conditions - they show stress quickly at sg 1.005, it being too high for them, at full marine, I think you'd know very quickly. GSPs do change shape quite a bit as they get old, Shakespeare is starting to look quite a bit different from my icon over the past year, I may have to snap a new photo of him.

Does swiming up and down the glass of the tank count? He doesn't seem that bad off though, but I am probably missing the signs if that is the case...

I can answer your first question; the second will have to wait for someone who actually knows about SW. Swimming up and down in front of the glass is usually a sign of boredom. If you can, you should get lots of nice, tall decorations/plants (fake is fine)/driftwood/caves and such to keep him entertained.

Sab's usually turn black or dark and blah pretty quickly when they are unhappy, and get very inactive. My guess is if your guy's color is good and its swimming around, then its pretty happy in whatever type of water you have it in.

I'd lean towards just a big old close to adulthood GSP... the body/face shape is what is making it not look like a GSP, but it could very well be an adult body shape, like what Pufferpunk posted.
