I just added a 1.5" picasso trigger to my 55 gallon that has been home to my 3.5" GSP for 8 months now. (Don't worry: when the trigger gets to about 4" I'll find him another home, or get a larger tank.) I was prepared for disaster, thinking that since my GSP instantly tried to kill two mollies I tried putting in her tank several months ago, she'd probably go for the trigger and try to kill him, too. It took a while for her to notice him when I put him in her tank, and when she did, she seemed totally uninterested. In fact, it was the trigger that swam up to her - and she didn't like it one bit! She zoomed away from him over to the other side of the tank and stayed there, and when the trigger came over to inspect her some more, she splashed and splashed in a top corner like she was trying to get out of the tank. I need to watch them some more today, but last night it seemed like they'd pretty much sorted out who each other was and both were going about their business. It's funny that a fish that has such a vicious reputation as a GSP lets herself be intimidated by a little guy less than half her size. I guess I will have to give her a good talking-to.
