Thanks-how do I know when to dc the treatments? I have done 2 and tonight would be a 3rd if I need to. I see a long -something-coming from his bum-I assume that is the parasite coming out-should I dose 1 more time or does that mean its dead? Thanks

Thanks for the post. I cannot find PraziPro locally so I am dosing a 3rd time with Parasite Clear-I cant imagine I'd get the PraziPro before Wednesday. I'll use if if he still seems this way. He did eat some Krill on Friday-saw it on the bottom and attacked it like he always did. I felt joyful, but he is returned to listlessness on the bottom. The parasite is now about 4" and swimming behind him. I have raised the temp in the tank-will shoot for 85. Any other thoughts?

What are the ingredients in Parasite Clear?

praziquantel; N-[[(N-Chlorophenyl)amino]carbon 1]-2,6-difluorobenzamide; metronidazole; acriflavine. Perhaps the Prazipro is the same as praziquantel? He has swam for a couple minutes here and there. What do you think Pufferpunk-what would you do at this point if he were your puffer?

Same stuff, keep treating the water & try to get some if it inside him.

Yea-mostly. It was a little skinnier but after about 6" it's gone.

How do I get the med inside him?

If he's eating soak his food in it before feeding. I would soak it for no less than 30 minutes. If possible soak it over night in the refigerator.

That picture was enlarged so that people can see up close what it looks like. The worm itself was skinny. Annabelle is only about 6" long, the tapeworm in the picture ended up being about 24" long and it took her about 6-7 days to expell all of it.
It would break off in sections.

As pufferpunk suggested you really need to check out Annabelle's post. Just because he passed a small amount it dosen't mean it's over. There could still be more in him. I'm still dealing with Annabelle's worm problem. I have pictures and details of everything I have done so far in the post. Here's the link, it may help you.

Thank you for the info-I'll read it all again. What do I do if he's not eating-to get the med in him? And, how many times can I dose with the parasite clear in a row? Thanks

I'm not sure about parasite clear, I used prazipro and now I'm using gel-tek. If he's not eating then you can use finquel and tube feed him.

I've used the parasite clear up to 5 times in a row at 48 hour intervals, but did at least 50%(usually more like 75-80) water changes to keep acriflavine from building up in the water.

Parasite Clear has Prazi in it, so it should work, unless the amounts are very diluted, compared to straight Prazi.
