ok, he's not eating and is hunkered down in a corner all stressed. So I think it's the lighting/decor. I removed the pink plants from the tank and put them in with my DP's then I put the DP's artificial plants in with the GSP but he's still all sulkey

I usually mix all the salt I need for the entire water change in one small bucket, then pour that in while the python hose refills the tank with fresh water. Seems to work just fine.

oh yeah he's also breathing really fast.

I'd do another WC & get an airstone in there. Test your tap water for everything.

We have 2 airstones and a powerhead in there. lots of oxygen.

Tap water, my DP's have been on the same tap water for almost 2 years now and they've been thriving.

OH WAIT! I did stir the substrate up nice and good...could it have produced some of that gas? I really really hope not....is there any recovery from that?

Gravel, about 4" deep

I'd remove about 2-3" of that gravel. No reason for substrate to be so deep.

Treat for gill flukes, unless you think it's a worm from feeding. They sometimes squirt food out of their gills.

How do I treat for gill flukes? All the remedies I have found so far say not to use on scaleless fish

There should be a sticky here on puffersafe meds.

It's too long to be a gill fluke. Could a nematode have migrated and be exiting through the gills?

Doubtful... Have you fed him any worms lately?

Just some Hikari Biopure frozen bloodworms which he didn't even eat. (He showed no intrest in the one that escaped the pipette.

How difficult would it be to try & pull it out?
