Ok so I got one mean one. Junior's new trick is to jump 1/4 way out of the water after my fingers. I am dreading when he is full grown. When I do any maintenance where I need to put my hands in the tank, I have my husband man a net to keep Junior away. Bud is ok- he is back to running away from my hand.

Wow that's pretty mean. Funny though, too. My little ceylon is going to be like that I think; he is not at all shy about taking a serious nip at my fingers - and even at his size, he can make it hurt!

What is really funny is the congo I just got will swim up and rest in the palm of my hand- doesn't go for my fingers even when feedig him- and he is supposed to be more vicsious (his FW tank is next to the GSP tank).

mine nipped me a little going for a snail that was stuck to my finger. i was shaking the snail off and spot made a beeline for my finger and missed the snail. it was weird though. it felt like the tiniest smooch. i think i just got lips. i have seen spot ATTACK the algae scraper as well as my bf. he will swim towards my hands when im cleaning his tank, but i wiggle my fingers at him and he runs away. well, he does for now anyway.

other than the occasional mistaken nip when I used to hand feed king prawn, there hasn't been much aggression at all from Bonzo.
The has been a few stand-offs between him and the angel or eel, but as a rule, he's a big fat wimp :)

are you keeping your GSP in full marine? What size is he? Did you see the thread about anyone raising them in full marine from young up?

Yes I am keeping him in marine, and I did see the thread that Amy posted.
I am going to dig back in to my memory and try to recall how he was through the process of raising the SG, I did post somewhere roughly what happened, and how I did it, I'll try and find it later on.
He's easily 4" now including tail, it's like the raise in salt kick started a growth spurt, as he seemed to get to about 2 inches in brackish then stop.

mne are in full marine as well, raised from brackish slowly over time. Both are boisterous, but not aggressive. Although one has bitten me... but hey, fingers... prawns... who can tell the difference. :D
