Not a Reef tank .... so no worries there

Below is the info on REVIVE ... We went to the fish store we bought the Puffer from they suggested it .
I found the info on the net to SHOW you what looks like and is..... only time will tell if it's to help NUNE ... that' smy puffer's name :)

Hmmm... I always question 1 "miracle" cure for everything that ails your fish (parasidic & bacterial), that won't harm your biologicc\al filtration. How good can it be? Good luck with it though, I hope it works! Keep up with water changes though, that fish needs pristine water.

Well, i thought i would update you all With some Sad news my puffer died tonight @ 9pm.
I am very sad .... that black spot took her body over , clear up to the head!

I'm so sorry Wendi. I think something that takes over that fast, has to be a parasite. Try loading your pics at Photobucket.

That poor thing. The only disease that I know of which spreads that fast & does that kind of damage is velvet. I still think you should post this in Kelly's Marine Depot disease forum for a correct ID. Also ask her what to do to disenfect the tank.

That definitely looks like velvet to me. You'll have to do some hard core tank cleaning to get rid of the germies.

I don't believe so. I did look through about 40 pages of posts at that forum & was shocked not to find anything like this posted on there. I'm sure Kelly could have helped.

Sorry about your puffer.
It looks a lot like my old porc when it got vibrio, so I feel it's safe to assume it was completely bacterial.

Oh my god...after reading this whole thread I feel like crying and the Porc isn't even mine. Its so horrific to see a loving pet get ill and watch it slowly die while you dont know how to cure it.
