I love baileyi's mine is very active (much more active than my palems or congo)

How much was he? If you don't mind me asking.

he was a whopping £50!!!
There is still one more left.. got him from farnham I only buy the fish that look healthy tho

He seems to have spurts of energy where he will zoom around the tank, rest, zoom, rest.
I put a ghost shrimp in there last night for him in the hope that he would eat it when he got hungry. But as I was watching him before I fell asleep, it had been dancing around him for a good couple of hours and decided to dance right in front of his face, so he went mad and took a chunk out of him. He didnt eat him tho.. just killed him. He hasnt eaten yet, but I guess he needs a few days to settle down.

Is there any special way that Im sposed to be feeding him? Do i need to entice him with food on a string or will just putting it in the tank suffice?

£50 isn't bad I was expecting it to be more than that actually. So was the other one not so healthy looking?

actually the other one was in pretty good shape too. There is a nice looking congo puffer in the tank next to him. In really good shape considering all the others ive seen have all had fin rot and been in a tank with 10 other congos. I was very tempted!

I had to use the string method to get my baleyi eat, till he realized the tweezers would bring him food. Now he's eating like a pig, 5 cockles and he isn't able to swim properly.
He's is very aggressive and eats everything. If he's a bit hungry I can't put my hand in because he will come swim for it. But if he's been fed then it's no problem of putting my hand in with him.

I found out that he really love lots of current, he absolutely gone wild when I'm changing the water. I put him into a bit bigger tank because he loves to swim, mine is in a 35gal tank with a 275gal/h filter, he just loves it.

It took him about 2 months to become used, now he's swimming a lot during the day.

i might have to try some string then as he hasnt eaten yet. Altho I guess i shouldnt be too worried yet.

Love the coloring! It's been said the males have more "hair" than females but it hasn't been proven...

I'd get about 3" of sand in there for her to burrow. How did you wind up cycling that tank? I added cycling advise on your other thread but I see you already got her. Would you like me to merge the 2 threads or maybe just lock the other one, so there won't be confusion with folks posting in both threads?

I just read the cycling advice, Bio-Spira isn't available over here unfortunately, but I see you also said about something called SafeStart. I've never heard of this, does it work like Bio-Spira? It better be available over here.

Oh my gosh I just realised we do have something over here called safestart. It's made by a company called tetra, they're quite big I see a lot of their products around. It also has a big circle on the front saying "unique live bacteria". Could this be it?? please say yes, please say yes, please say yes

he;s in a tank i got from my bro who's only just moved the fish out. I also added some bactinettes, which is meant to be like a UK version of Bio Spira. It comes chilled and you have to add it direct to the filter.

So PP, you think he may be a she?

I havent yet got round to decorating the tank yet, so the sand is just what I had spare in the cupboard. So I need to make a trip to the lfs this week to get more sand and decor etc.

Well its the first fish tank where the dog has a view from her height, so I think she thought it was a bit freaky when the puffer suddenly started charging around the tank!

Nice baileyi Going by the Cirri theory I'd say you have a bloke puffer, but who knows... lol

Mine tends to burrow a couple of inches under my big piece of wood and sits on a bare glass bottom
