well there great fish, i have got them fresh now which makes mine less aggressive and there colors got brighter and there seen alot more. there getting along with new tank mates. there wonderful im going to work on a picture but no guarantees, they still are huge and still eat live fish if they fit in there mouth ( they have a bit of catfish syndrome)( thats what i call it when a fish eats anything that fits in its mouth) they seem to like hanging out wiht my cory( the things huge have you ever seen a 4 inch long cory?)

Hmm. I have what I believe to be a T. microlepis in brackish conditions (~1.006) and it seems very healthy.nmonks wrote: and the common archerfish in the trade is Toxotes jaculatrix (it's T. microlepis, a freshwater species)...

T. microlepis tolerates rather than requires brackish water. This contrasts with the other two species in the trade, T. jaculatrix and T. chatareus, which both need brackish water. Frank Schaefer writes that as the salinity reaches around 1.010, T. microlepis shows signs of stress. Other aquarists have reported similar things: jitteriness, loss of colour, and so on.
