I had to sneak in at 1 last night and get some pictures, I hope these are better. There are some waterspots on the outside of the first tank, and the light in the second tank is dimmer (plus I had to hold a flashlight to the glass even to see the bugger), so the color isn't as great.
On the second puffer's left 'target' spot there is a lighter area, irl it looks more like a scar and it is not copied on his right side.

I'd suggest turgidus, because there seems to be no red center in the target (correct me if I'm interpreting the pictures wrong) and on the upper pictures the target is not larger than the other spots.

A typical turgidus is Woland's specimen in the pufferpedia. I think your puffers might look the same when they are growing up.

Try a forum search if you want: there is a lot of debate on ID of turgidus and cochinchinensis. Basically it is just about the target spot of the adults. Care for them is the same. But I wonder how the ones discussed two years ago look now, even if the young look very similar or practically the same, the adults should be IDable.

I guess I'll be posting every couple of years to let you know if they change ^_^
The first one has a bright (almost canary) yellowing surrounding the belly and the second one has a pure white belly (though it is hard to see in the pictures). Is this just individual variance, or is it a dominance trait like with the DPs?

Hi. I need help with puffer determine.
I bought few puffer from importer several days ago but I think that he has wrong determination.

Both species have injured fins and mount from other fish from seller's tank. All was very slim and hungry but now are ok.
Is it true?

Your IDs seem correct to me.
