Yeah, after looking at it a bit more, I'd have to say he's probably a GSP.
My camera sucks, so I don't have any really good pictures and my website appears to be down, so I can't access the ones I have...

Do they at least have spots on their sides?

yeah... mine does..
saddles on to top, a few spots round the side, then a distinct separation between those and a big white belly..
I have seen other ceylons with spots on their bellies, and i did have a GSP with spots on his belly for a few days before he died.. (had been badly beaten up)
maybe subspecies again? ..

If you look at my pic (sorry, really bad one) on the 1st page of this thread, you can see the spots don't cover the entire belly.

Yeah, mine have spots all along their sides.
