Re: Green Spotted Pit Bull
yep, at least 30 mins... I looked for him, couldn't see him, carried on making breakfast in the kitchen... looked 15 minutes later, couldn't see him, started to worry... put my hand in the tank, dug around all the plants... nothing...
then i moved the tank and had a look behind... all around it...
and after much seaching i glanced at the floor an saw a cat toy behind the washing basket... when i looked again i realised it was my 3 inch ceylon puffer, completely puffed and very dead looking...
I was gutted as i'd been working on him for a week to get him well, and he'd jumped through the smallest hole, clearly flapped about on the work surface and fallen off onto the floor...!
Picked him up, he was covered in dust and stuff from the floor as well.. I assumed the worst, and then i was the tiniest flick of tail...
so put him back in his tank, to give him water at least whilst he died.. and i walked away.. too sad to see his swollen puffed body floating upside down....
when i came back a bit later he had vanished, and low and behold he had de-puffed, and was hiding under a plant... he looked a state, but he was alive...
he got cloudy eye but i kept up his tank regime and nuked it with melafix... covered the food hole, and he is now a year older, and a glorious 5 inches...
the whole story is on here somewhere, when i was asking for help with him after i got mis-sold him and had put him in my oscar tank (oh the shame)
now i know better, he is in a 60G brackish tank, and I now have three others... all have lids!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Green Spotted Pit Bull
The puffer above got spooked one night and jumped out of the tank on to my desk. Luckily my wife saw the whole thing and I got him back into the water. I now cover the top of the aquarium on his side at night. For some reason if you enter the room with the light off, he freaks out and tries to get out. I keep a partially open tank because I have mangrove plants that filter the nitrates out of the tank.
