You did!
C. janthinoptera don't have to have lines. While some have them around the eyes, not all do, especially not young ones around 2". The spots on C. janthinoptera are becoming fewer and smaller towards the back, while they are more or less equally spread and sized on the other two species. On C. punctuaissima they are smaller compared to the spots of a C. jactator of the same size.

thanks Corvus, I had a feeling there might be a reason you threw it in there.

glad I could help though, and congrats on the new C. jactator.

No I meant the WWM. I have never heard of it before. The other links are good too but I really liked WWM.
Corvus are you saying that he will get lines? He is about 2 inches maybe a little bigger he is fast so the most I saw him was in the bag. I really like the ones with just spots. The spots on his head are blueish really light, just like the lines of the other fish but they are very round spots. He reminds me of a big gsp except red with white/blue spots.

Not if it is a C. jactator. Only the C. janthinoptera can have small lines around the eyes when older.

Well I guess we will see what kind of puffer he is when he gets a little bigger. If he gets lines then we will know!

WWM still needs a bit of tuning up with their ID section.
