With any luck all the bacteria from the big filter filled right in and rebalanced the tank.

WOW ok well it seems like i have a whole new puffer!!!
i when out and bought a small back of marine salt and did an 80 % water change and replaced the old water with pre mixed 1.008 true sea salt water and he is amazing.
he was always active but never like this all his color is back and he is just awesome... he just loves to investigate all the plants and swim around thank again for all the help...now im gonna start another post asking for a guide on how i will eventually get him to a comlete marine set up but ill start that in the proper forum thank you again!!!!

Aww hes cute. I love the little puffer deco that you have is that the one that bubbles? How is the sand going? I am getting ready to change my tank over to sand. But I think I might wait till I get a new tank because I just changed the rocks. Do you like the sand better?

Re: GSP, new sand, and now its not cycled anymore...
yea the puffer deco is supposed to bubble but the air pump i have on the tank is way to powerful so his mouth just stays up all the time so i just got a normal bubble bar lol
yea i really like the sand, i was a really easy change and i think the puffer really likes it. seems alot easier to suction up becdause most of the stuff just stays right on top so its not as hard to clean...yea if your gonna get a new tank then id just wait cus i'd be easier just setting it up with the sand new...i just can't wait till i get some money cus i wanna get a 30 hex and ke it full marine once this guy is ready for it.
