The idea of veggies easing constipation assumes the puffer's digestive track works the same way ours does. Do we know if the digestive track is similar to ours?GSPmom wrote:I read it here earlier about puffer can get constipated. I give pea to my beta twice a week. I assume giving my GSP pea, brocolli occasionally should be ok, right. I certainly do not want my puffers get constipated. What about algae wafer? can it prevent constipation? Thank u guys.
Epsom salt is usually the cure for constipation and it is only necessary when there are adverse effects in health or behavior. Puffer constipation is not a regular occurrence if the diet is kept in check, aka, full of meaty, hards-helled foods.
However, puffers do come into contact with algae in their natural habitat, you can offer them occasionally and see what happens.
