i live in surrey mate which is where i bought my mbu from. In wallington. he was one of the shop workers own personal mbu but he got bored with him doing nothing so took him into shop. i walked in the day he took him in and he was in a 2ft tank with about 30 neons etc etc hiding in the rocks. Apparently he was in with stingrays etc in the guys tank at home so im not suprised he didnt do anything. I Bought a new set up for him and took him home and never kept anything with him. He was out all the time. He was about 2.5 inches long then.....he is now more like 10" and loves people!! If you want i can keep an eye out for you to see if they have more because the last time i went in they had about 6 babies of about 1.5" long.

I'm glad my article was of some use but its really good to hear from other Mbu owners and get the chance to learn from them.
It is true as stated earlier that not all Mbu are peaceful so be wary of that when you do purchase potential tankmates

Well I had a similar problem. My sick little GSP was just this morning sucked into my filter intake and died from wounds caused by it. He was weak because of IP's and I had just treated him with medicine. I left for work and he was sleeping at the bottom of the aquarium, and my wife woke up to him being stuck in the intake. The filter isnt that strong, but for a weak fish I bet it is. e was extremely thin and I bet thats why he slid in so easily.
Im very, very sad. He was my buddy and I wanted so badly for him to pull through. I tried everything I can think of (Which may have killed him).
BTW- Anyone reading this please for the love of pete dont use medicines without asking first. I used Life Guard and it fried the little guy who was never the same after that.
So please please please, if you dont know or if you think you do, ask first. Its not worth losing a fish over.
